Rachelle Lefevre signs on as lead in ABC's new thriller 'Doomsday'

Canadian actress Rachelle Lefevre, known for her roles in "Under the Dome" and "Twilight," will star alongside Jack Davenport in ABC's upcoming "Doomsday" series, according to Deadline.

Based on a script by Mark Bianculli & VJ Boyd, produced by Carol Mendelsohn and directed by Joachim Ronning, "Doomsday" follows the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York, where a former team of specialists are brought together to foresee and resolve potential man-made disasters.

Lefevre will play the Deputy Director of Homeland Security, and the leader of the Doomsday team. She will star opposite Jack Davenport ("Pirates of the Caribbean", "Kingsman: The Secret Service") who will play a playwright/screenwriter. A release date for the series has not yet been announced.
