Rachael Kirkconnell Is ”Hurt” After Matt James and Grace Amerling Dating Claims
Bachelor spoiler source Reality Steve went on Instagram Live yesterday, and according to People, he was joined by a woman named Grace Amerling—who claims she was casually dating Matt before The Bachelor. She also claims that they started talking again ahead of Matt’s NYC reunion with Rachael Kirkconnell.
“It just didn’t sit right with me," Amerling said during her talk with Steve, per People. ”I just felt like Rachael was so in love with him and for him to be trying to contact me and hang out with me—someone he’s had past romantic relationships with—two days prior in Miami...I felt like I had to say something for Rachael’s sake.”

Us Weekly reports that Rachael is “very hurt” and feels “manipulated” because she and Matt were allegedly “talking about a future together.” A source also told the mag, “Rachael is very emotional right now because she was very hopeful that things were going to work out. She’s still trying to process this.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Matt tells Us Weekly that he “tried to make it clear to her that he just wants to be friends,” and that “Matt is a caring and supportive person, so he wouldn’t want to block her out of his life completely.”
Rachael and Matt initially broke up after photos of her attending a racist antebellum-themed plantation party in 2018 surfaced online. They spoke about the split on “After the Final Rose” with Emmanuel Acho, where Matt made it clear he couldn’t continue in the relationship and said, “If you don’t understand that something like that is problematic in 2018, there’s a lot of me that you won’t understand. It’s as simple as that.”
As of now, neither Rachael nor Matt have commented on Grace’s allegations.
