The Queen’s Staff Work in 3-Week Shifts Away From Families and Are Regularly Tested for Coronavirus

If you’re wondering how the Queen is ensuring that she keeps safe during the coronavirus pandemic, she pretty much has her routine down. According to a new report from The Sun, Her Majesty’s staff work in shifts, in which they spend two weeks at home, a third week in quarantine, and three weeks with the Queen after being tested for Covid-19.
In total, she has a team of 24 handpicked staff split into two groups of 12 who work “three weeks on, three weeks off.” And in addition to being tested after a quarantine period, staffers have their temperatures taken before they can start their next three-week shift.
Since it’s unclear when the pandemic will be contained, royal aides are reportedly preparing to keep Her Majesty isolated for months.
“No chances can be taken with the Queen and the Duke’s health, so it’s totally understandable,” a source tells The Sun. “But the fact this move has been taken indicates there will be no change soon. The Queen will clearly be in lockdown for many months. It’s hard to see when it will be deemed safe for her to venture out again. It’s highly unlikely she will be able to knight Captain Tom Moore, for example, in person.”
