Buy online products on Qoo10, and collect them at 7-Eleven convenience stores. This is the new collection service offered by the Singapore e-commerce platform, and it was rolled out at 75 stores on Tuesday (13 November).

Customers using this service will receive SMS and in-app notifications once the item has arrived at the selected store. They will have 48 hours to retrieve the parcel, by showing the unique QR code provided in the notification to the store’s cashier for authentication.

Qoo10 intends to make this collection option available at all 7-Eleven stores progressively. Its customers will be offered this option at no additional cost.

Qoo10’s announcement comes after rival e-commerce site Lazada similarly began offering parcel collection service at 7-Eleven stores last month.

Lockers, collection points at convenient locations

By the end of the year, Qoo10 will also begin a pilot scheme to have federated lockers and collection points in Bukit Panjang and Punggol, as well as selected MRT stations.

The scheme is a partnership with the Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA). Customers will have secured and convenient lockers to collect their parcels either along their daily commuting routes, or from residential or commercial locations within their HDB estates.

Qoo10 Singapore’s country manager Hyunwook Cho said, “Convenience for our customers and merchants has always been at the forefront of Qoo10’s business, and we are focused on growing a comprehensive, cross-border logistics network across Southeast Asia.”

Expansion of logistics service

In addition to these two new collection services, Qoo10 has also expanded its Qprime logistics service, which aims to minimise shipping costs on selected products. Buyers can enjoy free shipping on checkouts over $50, and a flat rate from $3.99 for checkouts below $50. Sellers also enjoy lower shipping fees.

Since the start of Qprime six months ago, the service now includes merchants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Korea. In the coming months, Qoo10 plans to expand the service to markets such as Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and China. Qoo10 Singapore currently lists 150,000 products under the service, with plans to increase this to 1 million products by the end of the year.
