Qin Lan doesn't care for your definition of marriage
22 Jul – Chinese actress Qin Lan doesn't think other people should be concerned about her love life or her ability to give birth at her age.
As reported on Sohu, the "Story of Yanxi Palace" actress, who recently sat down for an interview, stated that when it comes to love and marriage, she regards both subjects the same way as her acting career.
"Let's just go with the flow, no need to force it," she said.
Qin stated that she was rushed to get married a few years ago, with someone close to her saying that people who do not want to get married are those who do not want to have commitment and responsibility.
"I think that's a strange perspective. Isn't getting married for the sake of getting married more irresponsible?" she asked.
She also stated that someone even told her that giving birth is a woman's duty, to which she responded, "What does it matter to you what my uterus is for?"
Nonetheless, Qin admitted that she had once been in a relationship that was serious enough to warrant talks of marriage. However, the actress said that she gave up on it seeing that she wasn't ready to become a wife and a mother.
