Punk band Green Day cancels concerts in Asia due to COVID-19 pandemic
It will be ‘2000 Light Years Away’ before we could watch American punk rock band Green Day perform live in Asia again.
Concert organiser Lushington Entertainments Singapore announced on their official Facebook page today (15 January) that they will be cancelling their performance in Singapore. The band was scheduled to perform on 1 April 2021 after their concert was postponed from 8 March last year.
Meanwhile, MMI Live, the band’s promoter in Manila and Live Nation – the promoter in Taipei, Seoul and Bangkok cities – also announced the cancellation in three countries today, according to NME Asia.
Fans in Manila are advised to contact ticketing agent SM Tickets for refunds, while customers in Singapore, Taipei and Bangkok who have purchased the concert tickets will receive a full automatic refund.
In a statement by Lushington Entertainments Singapore, the post reads: “We regretfully announce that due to the ongoing COVID-19 concerns and travel restrictions, GREEN DAY - LIVE IN SINGAPORE scheduled to be held on 1 April 2021 will be cancelled. The band would like to thank all fans for your patience and understanding, and we hope to stage the show in Singapore in the future.”
