Gremlins inspires a mismatched pair of the All-Pro Nitro, a performance basketball model that just made its debut in August. One shoe each goes to Gizmo and Stripe, pitting good against evil and cuteness against grunge on your feet. Subjecting either shoe to water or light, however, won’t be a problem.
Both sneakers take on color schemes for their respective character across the upper and midsole, with Gizmo’s pelt inspiring brown and white and Stripe’s scales green and brown. The two shoes then feature a matching faux-fur tongue in white with a special tongue tag outlining the three essential rules for taking care of a Mogwai: “Keep them away from bright light. Don’t get them wet. Never ever feed them after midnight.” Gizmo and Stripe’s heads then appear on the left and right mustache, respectively, while both shoes utilize a light gum outsole.
On the performance front, the All-Pro Nitro mixes a soft inner layer of Nitro foam at the forefoot for cushioning and responsiveness along with a more firm layer of the same material for targeted lateral stability and multi-directional movements. The upper is made of an engineered mesh with “multi-zoned” materials for targeted support.
The Gremlins x Puma All-Pro Nitro will release Dec. 8 through Puma’s website and NYC flagship store, as well as select third-party retailers. Pricing for the shoe is set at $140, while an accompanying apparel collection will start at $45.
