Is Wonder Woman 1984 set in 1984? Or 1969? Because the new poster for the DC movie has a distinctly psychedelic vibe to it.

Warner Bros has released the colourful new promo material, featuring Gal Gadot's Diana Prince festooned in swirling paint.

It's also giving us a decent gander at Wonder Woman's new 'golden eagle' armour, the necessity of which currently remains a mystery, though it was briefly seen in the movie's first trailer.

It follows the previous character posters that landed before Christmas...

With Patty Jenkins, who directed the first Wonder Woman movie, back on board, the action has flashed forward to 1984, from her introduction in the DC Extended Universe in 2017, which featured the backdrop of World War One.

Despite the decades between them, Chris Pine's US pilot Steve Trevor will be returning somehow, as she takes on new, more deadly enemies.

Kristen Wiig is playing Barbara Ann Minerva, aka Cheetah, classically Wonder Woman's arch nemesis in the comic books.

She'll also be facing off against media mogul Max Lord, played by Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, while both Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen will return as Antiope and Hippolyta.

Also on the bill, in so-far unspecified roles, are Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Kristoffer Polaha and Amr Waked.
