PSG manager Christoph Galtier has heaped praise on Manchester City star Bernardo Silva, who has been linked with a switch to the Parc des Princes.

The Portugal international scored a fantastic brace against Real Madrid on Wednesday to book the Cityzen’s place in the Champions League final.

However, despite his importance to the team, Pep Guardiola is ‘willing’ to let Silva leave this summer. But only if someone meets his hefty price tag.

Indeed, recent reports suggest both PSG and Barcelona have registered a keen interest in the Man City starIt’s also believed Silva is looking for a move away from the Etihad this summer.

A switch to the Camp Nou is believed to be the 28-year-old’s favoured option. But, it isn’t clear whether the Catalans can afford him due to their ongoing financial issues.

As a result, PSG are the current favourites to sign the Portugal international. Man City will reportedly consider offers between €50m and €70m for Silva.

The attacker’s relatively cheap price is reportedly due to the fact he has just two years remaining on his contract. Although, Guardiola may still try and convince the attacker to sign a contract extension,

Galtier: Silva is an ‘interesting player’

Now, Galtier has added fuel to the rumours linking Silva with a move to PSG.

In a recent interview, the manager describe Silva as an ‘interesting player,’ but fell short of naming him as a transfer target.

As relayed by L’EquipeGaltier said: “Above all, he’s a Manchester City player.

“Many of you saw [Silva’s] last game, he was very good. I discovered him when he arrived in Monaco, where Luis Campos recruited him.

“He’s obviously an interesting player. But I repeat, he is a Manchester City player.”

Indeed, Silva joined Monaco from Benfica in 2014 on an initial loan deal, before his stay was made permanent the following season.

Overall, in 147 appearances for the French side, he scored 28 goals and made 19 assists, before signing for Man City on a £43.5m deal in 2017.

Since, the Portuguese star has won as many as 11 major trophies with Man City.

Now, Silva could potentially add a historic treble to his list of accolades this season, with Guardiola’s team favourites to lift the Premier League title, FA Cup and an ever-elusive Champions League trophy.

Nevertheless, Guardiola’s ‘policy’ of letting players go if they request to leave – as evidenced by the departure of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko last summer – suggests Silva could depart at the end of the season.

Indeed, unless Guardiola ties Silva down to a new contract, a switch to PSG or Barcelona is looking increasingly likely.
