Prosecutor dismisses grave threat case against Kris Aquino

29 Apr – Kris Aquino recently announced that the complaint filed against her by the Falcis brothers has recently been dismissed by the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.

The actress shared the development on Instagram with a clip of the said resolution, which cited that the prosecutor's office has junked the case due to lack of probable cause.

"Though he claimed that he was greatly alarmed by the threat made on his life, complainant Nicko [Falcis] did not report it to the police authorities in Bangkok, Thailand, or at the very least, to the Philippine consulate in the area. There is even no showing that he immediately contacted his relatives, especially his brother, Atty. Jesus Nicardo M. Falcis III, and confided said threats to them/him," the resolution read.

It also added that Falcis did not take any steps to keep his arrival in the Philippines a secret, or that his family had done anything to ensure his safety from his travel to the airport to his residence – an action that they should have taken if there was a threat as it was alleged.

Aquino wrote, "It's easy to judge others, I've fallen into that trap, too. But it's HARD to LIVE that person's life. The amount I read, heard, and watched, countless critiques throughout my personality. HOW DID I SURVIVE? BECAUSE I TOLD THE TRUTH."

Thanking her legal team, Aquino said that she is proof that everybody is flawed.

"But setting me apart from my legal adversaries, I immediately [and] bravely faced accountability for my actions. I did not pretend you were "perfect"... and we STUCK TO THE ISSUES."

Falcis, Aquino's former business manager, filed the grave threats case following Aquino's decision to file criminal cases against him for supposedly misusing funds intended for her business. In it, the business manager claimed that Aquino warned him not to return to the Philippines, otherwise her family will have him killed.
