Priyanka Chopra Defends Her Decision to Wear Marchesa to Her Bridal Shower
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s wedding is just around the corner, and the bride-to-be celebrated with a swanky bridal shower over the weekend. The event went down at Tiffany’s Blue Box Café in New York City, and Priyanka wore an on-theme white gown (complete with feathers!) by Marchesa.
Marchesa was cofounded by Georgina Chapman, and some celebs have shied away from wearing the brand in the wake of numerous assault allegations against her ex-husband Harvey Weinstein. But Priyanka defended her decision during an interview with Women’s Wear Daily:
“Georgina’s a friend of mine, and she has been. And it’s not her fault. And I don’t think it’s right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did. That’s the wrong attitude. That was a beautiful gown and deserved to be worn by a bride-to-be. And it made me feel like a princess. It was the right choice.”
