Princesses Eugenie Shared a Remembrance of Her Grandmother, Queen Elizabeth

The anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II is upon us, and many around the world are taking the opportunity to pay tribute to the late royal. Of course, the British royal family are no exception, and many of them have shared sweet homages to and memories of their long-reigning matriarch, including Elizabeth's granddaughter, Princess Eugenie.

The daughter of Elizabeth's son, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, the princess shared a sweet post on Instagram marking the day.

"Thinking of you today," she wrote in the caption for a photo of herself and the late monarch. "Missing you so much but remembering what a life of service, love and dedication to everyone and to your family, who loved you so very much." She added, "Forever grateful to you. And always in my heart."

Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were famously close with their grandmother, and were seen among the mourners at Balmoral following Elizabeth's death at the age on 96 in 2022. They also joined their first cousins in standing vigil over the late queen's coffin as it lay in state at Westminster Hall ahead of her funeral.

"You were our matriarch, our guide, our loving hand on our backs leading us through this world. You taught us so much and we will cherish those lessons and memories forever," they wrote in a moving statement shortly after the queen's death.

They added, "For now dear Grannie, all we want to say is thank you. Thank you for making us laugh, for including us, for picking heather and raspberries, for marching soldiers, for our teas, for comfort, for joy. You, being you, will never know the impact you have had on our family and so many people around the world."
