Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the Queen’s second youngest child, and Sarah Ferguson.

She was born on 23 March 1990, at Portland Hospital in London and she was the first royal baby to have a public christening at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

She’s currently ninth in line to the throne, behind her elder sister Princess Beatrice, 30.

Her parents divorced when she was six, but Andrew and Sarah have remained friends.

The Princess started at Upton House School and then Coworth Park School, both in Berkshire. She went on to attend St. George’s School in Windsor before moving on to Marlborough College in Wiltshire in 2003, where she completed A levels in Art, English Literature, and History of Art.

Eugenie studied a Combined Honours BA in English Literature, History of Art and Politics at Newcastle University in September, 2009, graduating with a 2:1 degree in 2012.

Where does Eugenie work?

Neither Eugenie or her sister Beatrice carry out any public duties, but the pair have represented the Queen on a couple of occasions.

Eugenie is now a director at Mayfair art dealers, Hauser and Wirth, where she works full time.

Prior to that, the Princess worked for online auction house Paddle8 in New York City, where she was based from 2013.

What charity work does Eugenie do?

Eugenie is a Patron of many charities and organisations, relating to causes and passions close to her heart.

In October 2002, when she was 12, the royal underwent back surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Middlesex, to correct a scoliosis condition.

As a result of the surgery, Eugenie is keen to support others going through similar treatments and she became Patron of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital’s Redevelopment Appeal in April, 2012.

She also holds Patronages for the Elephant Family (a charity to protect the Asian Elephant and their habitat), the Teenage Cancer Trust, the Coronet Theatre, The European School of Osteopathy and the Tate Young Patrons.

Eugenie has also been engaging with organisations, such as the UN Trust Fund, which are working to end human trafficking.

Earlier this year, she announced she is an ambassador for global marine charity Project 0, whose aim is to restore and protect the ocean. As a result, Eugenie and Jack are aiming to have a plastic-free wedding.
