Why Princess Diana was 'hurt' by the loss of her HRH title, according to royal's personal trainer

Watch the full interview with Diana’s former personal trainer on episode seven of Yahoo UK’s show ‘The Royal Box‘, which is available to stream here from Friday 7 September.

Princess Diana was said to be ‘hurt’ after the loss of her Her Royal Highness title, following her divorce from Prince Charles in 1996.

Her former personal trainer, Jenni Rivett revealed on episode 7 of Yahoo UK’s show ‘The Royal Box’ that Diana was “extremely hurt” by the decision and “it was just one thing after another.”

Rivett said: “She was a patron to over 300 charities and suddenly she was going to lose her HRH title.”

She added: “She had been such an ambassador for Britain, everybody adored her and she was still the mother of the future king of England, why should she lose her title?”

Although Diana gave up some of her patronages after the divorce, she continued her charity work, concentrating on organisations such as Centrepoint, the National Aids Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
