Princess Charlotte is walking: watch her first steps on the Royal Tour

She's still a little unsteady, but Princess Charlotte's adorable toddle stole the show at a children's party at Canada's Government House in Victoria on Thursday afternoon.

Wearing a pretty smocked dress from Pepa & Co the 16-month-old Princess walked a little unsteadily on her tiny feet, excitedly darting from one excitement to another as her dad, Prince William, trailed behind to make sure she was safe.

Princess Charlotte is walking, and it's very cute!

This is the first time we have seen Prince George's little sister actually walking. She was pictured standing up, holding onto a wooden walker, in the pictures released back in May in celebration of her first birthday (photographs taken by her mum, Duchess Kate).

But as our adorable videos show, the little Princess is well and truly a toddler now, and she's keeping her parents busy!

George, 3, and his younger sibling were guests of honour at the party of children, which included a group of military families, totalling 24 children and 24 adults from the Military Family Resource Centre.

The event, which Kensington Palace described as a "morning of surprises" was a dream come true for everyone involved. The royal children clearly had a ball, playing with new friends, sharing toys and making the most of the decorations, including a huge arch made out of helium-filled balloons.

The cheeky duo had a lot of fun with the animals brought in for the occasion. A Nubian goat, two miniature horses called Honey and TC, a sheep, quails and a black and white rabbit were among the creatures that the children could pet.

And energetic Charlotte, who appears to have inherited every ounce of brother Prince George’s cheekiness, had a lot of fun bouncing up and down on top of Moose, the dog!

A palace spokesperson said: "The Duke and Duchess are really pleased to have this opportunity to introduce their children to Canada and it's great that they have the chance to play with other children while they are here."
