Last night, Kensington Palace released three brand new photographs of Princess Charlotte to mark her fourth birthday.

Taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, the images were shot at both Kensington Palace and at the family’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

While they have been met with delight, royal fans have been left divided on one issue:

No one can decide whether Charlotte looks more like her dad, Prince William, 36, or her 93-year-old great-grandmother, the Queen.

“Oh what a resemblance to Queen Elizabeth!,” wrote one Instagram user, while another added: “It’s incredible how much she looks like the Queen!”

Others were firmly in the “Prince William” school.

One person commented: “Little Charlotte is so like her dad!,” and another put: “She is very similar to William!”

Of course, Prince William famously resembles his late mother, Princess Diana - a point not lost on royal fans.

One person added, “Image of William- who is image of Diana!,” while another said: “Totally agree. She’s a mini Diana.”
