Prince Has Died Aged 57

The artist known as Prince has died, aged 57.

According to TMZ, the 57-year-old pop legend has died following a particularly bad bout of flu. He was reportedly found dead at his recording studio in Minnesota.

“Prince’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning,” they reveal. “Multiple sources connected to the singer confirmed he had passed.”

“The singer – full name Prince Rogers Nelson – had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois,” they added. “He appeared at a concert the next day to assure his fans he was okay.”

“His people told TMZ he was battling the flu.”

Prince Rogers Nelson became an international superstar in 1982 following the release of his breakout album, ‘1999’. From that point onwards, the hits kept on coming… and so did the awards, with 7 Grammys and 4 MTV Awards.

And he even turned his hand to the movie business…

Prince starred in the 1984 Rock musical drama, ‘Purple Rain’. And after writing the original soundtrack to the movie, even landed an Academy Award in the now-defunct category, Best Original Song Score.

In fact, he was the final recipient of the award.

But his film credits don’t end there. Prince’s music has featured in a colossal number of film and TV projects, earning him credits on the original ‘Batman’ movie as well as ‘Happy Feet’ and even ‘Showgirls’.

“Prior to his most recent appearance however, Prince had cancelled two shows due to health concerns,” they explained.

The artist known as Prince died 21 April 2016.
