Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Held Secret, Intimate Wedding Three Days Before Royal Ceremony

From Harper's BAZAAR

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, revealed during her highly anticipated sit-down with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday that she and Prince Harry had a secret ceremony three days before their royal wedding.

When Winfrey asked the Duchess of Sussex and Harry (while touring their personal hen coop in their Montecito, California, backyard, nonetheless) what it's been like settling into their new lives in America, Meghan shared that they've been relishing their intimate time together as a family. Following that response, she revealed the shocking news that she and Harry actually said "I do" before the rest the world would see it on May 19, 2018.

"Even our wedding, you know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that, but we called the archbishop and we said this thing, this spectacle, this is for the world," said Meghan. "But we wanted our union between us. The vows we have, they're framed in our room, are just the two us in our backyard with Archbishop Canterbury and that was it … it was just the three of us. "

Meghan expressed that she feels that she and Harry have been able to live a more "authentic" life since relocating to the duchess's home state of California.

"I think just being able to live authentically [has been the most important]," said Meghan, referencing her and Harry's home and their calmer lifestyle. "This kind of stuff is so basic, but it's really fulfilling and about getting back to basics."
