19 Aug – Taiwanese singer-actor Prince Chiu has recently denied rumours that he and his brother have been using their money to pay off loan sharks due to their father's debt.
As reported on Mingpao, earlier there were rumours that the singer and brother Chris Chiu were unable to buy a home for themselves due to the huge amount of money that they had to pay off to their father's creditors.
There were several speculations about the supposed debt - that the singer's father borrowed from loan sharks following business troubles; or that he had been addicted to gambling and was accumulating debt because of it.
It was rumoured that these sharks even went to Prince's record label HIM International two years ago to demand for money.
In response to the rumours, the singer's manager released a statement to deny all the untrue reports, saying that the singers' father has been working hard for the past two years to pay off all his loans.
As to rumours that the loan sharks had went to HIM, the manager stated, "There was no such thing."
