Turns out Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton aren’t the only royals with style know-how as Prince Charles is set to launch his first ever fashion collection.

The royal's charity The Prince's Foundation (not to be confused with the Prince’s Trust) has teamed up with Yoox Net-a-Porter to produce a capsule collection for both men and women.

The Modern Artisan, which will launch with an autumn/winter collection next summer, is hoping to bring together artisanal textile and data-driven design through high-end yet sustainable manufacturing.

The collaboration is aiming to help support young students (from both the UK and Italy) by equipping them with the skills to make it in the fashion industry.

According to The Telegraph the project will see six young fashion graduates from the Politecnico di Milano, one of Italy’s leading design schools, design the collection, and six skilled British artisans to make it.

“Designed in Italy and crafted in the UK, The Modern Artisan collection will be an important expression of how talent and technology can work across boundaries and borders,” Federico Marchetti, chairman and CEO of Yoox Net-a-Porter said.

“This project, part of a longterm partnership between Yoox Net-a-Porter and The Prince’s Foundation, will help equip a new generation of skilled men and women to fuse traditional craft with digitally-infused creativity – and, importantly, to do so sustainably, following the example of HRH The Prince of Wales who has dedicated the last 40 years to building a more sustainable future.”

Commenting on the collection Jacqueline Farrell, education director for The Prince’s Foundation at Dumfries House, said: “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, so we are proud to have partnered with Yoox Net-A-Porter group to deliver this truly innovative training programme.”

Those wanting to snap up a piece from the collection will be able to buy via Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, The Outnet and Yoox with all profits going to The Prince's Foundation.

Prince Charles is following in the footsteps of his daughter-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, who created a capsule workwear collection for various high-street brands including John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, in association with the charity Smart Works this summer.

The Prince is known for his sartorial style, and was previously voted one of GQ’s Best Dressed Men.
