The bubble tea craze is still going strong in Singapore: another Taiwanese premium bubble tea chain, Milksha, is throwing down the gauntlet amid intense competition from numerous brands that have launched here in the last year or so.

By the end of this month, Milksha will open a flagship outlet first at Suntec City Mall, then a second outlet in Funan Mall, which is scheduled to reopen on 28 June after a three-year revamp.

Milksha will announce the exact opening dates soon.

100 Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore readers will be able to enjoy a free Milksha beverage at the Suntec City outlet. Read on for the details below.

The brand is known as “Milkshop” in Taiwan and “Milksha” outside of Taiwan. It currently has over 230 outlets in Taiwan, as well as 20 outlets in China and two in Hong Kong.

Milksha’s brand mission is “natural, handmade and unique milk beverages”, and it uses only fresh milk instead of creamer. Furthermore, no preservatives or artificial colouring are used in its beverages.

Another key ingredient of Milksha is its honey boba pearls, which are frozen as soon as they are cooked, and will be air-flown directly to Singapore. Milksha says its quick-freeze technology maintains the texture and taste consistency of each pearl.

Milksha’s five signature beverages are Azuki Matcha Milk, Fresh Taro Milk, Refreshing Orange Green Tea, Earl Grey Latte with Honey Pearl and Valrhona 100% Cocoa Milk.

Premium ingredients are used for these drinks: for example, the Azuki Matcha Milk uses matcha tea imported from the century-old Japanese brand Izumo Tousuien, while the Valrhona 100% Cocoa Milk contains premium Valrhona cocoa from France.
