Pregnant singer Cassie has embraced her growing figure in a new fashion campaign for Opening Ceremony.

The Me & U star is currently expecting her first child with her new husband, Alex Fine, and she has shown off her baby bump as part of the clothing label's latest Year of Mexico advertisements for its spring 2020 collection.

The project highlights influential creatives in the Mexican community, and also features the likes of Jessica Alba, singer/songwriter San Cha, and Kehlani's stylist Debbie Gonzales.

Cassie, whose mother is part Mexican, poses for her portrait wearing baby blue pants with a matching cardigan over a crop top, which exposes her growing belly, and in a post on Instagram, the 33-year-old writes, "My current project is becoming a mother and I can't wait to experience the transformation that comes through motherhood, especially in creating new music and visuals. I'm an artist at heart.

"Like every woman, I've gone through many significant transitions in life that have taught me so much about myself and the woman that I want to become. I'm focused on becoming."

The campaign, titled The Familia: A Portrait Series, was shot by photographer Stefan Ruiz. Twenty per cent of the first week sale of the collection will benefit Fondo Semillas, a charity aimed at improving women's lives throughout Mexico and promoting gender equality.

The photoshoots took place in Los Angeles and New York, with Opening Ceremony co-founder Humberto Leon explaining that he wanted to include people who exemplify the power of Mexican creativity today.

"Throughout our lives, and particularly through our Year of Mexico project, we have been privileged enough to witness the breadth of talent and soul that emanates from the Mexican community," he commented. "In our current political climate, and at a most crucial time to celebrate diversity on both our home front and abroad, we decided to bring together friends new and old who pioneer conversation in the global cultural dialogue."
