Power Rangers Reboot Gets Official Synopsis As Production Begins
Lionsgate has revealed the first official synopsis for their upcoming ‘Power Rangers’ reboot, as production gets under way in Vancouver with director Dean Israelite.
The reboot stars a cast of relative newcomers as the teenage heroes, and 'Pitch Perfect’s Elizabeth Banks as villainess Rita Repulsa.

“Saban’s 'Power Rangers’ follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.
"Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.”
The Rangers will consist of Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger.
The script has been written by 'Kong: Skull Island’s John Gatins, Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who wrote 'Dracula Untold’, Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, who penned 'X-Men: First Class’ and Max Landis, best known for writing 'Chronicle’.
Zordon will gather the new Rangers on 24 March 2017.
