According to Variety, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer is rather confident about the upcoming ‘Power Rangers’ movie… and envisions up to seven more films in the series.

“We are really, really excited about the ‘Power Rangers’ movie,” he said during a conference call with analysts. “We could see doing five or six or seven.”

Feltheimer revealed that their confidence in the upcoming ‘Power Rangers’ movie was ignited by the positive reaction to the recently revealed costumes, which they believe to be evidence of audience interest.

And that potentially means seven more ‘Power Rangers’ films…

“The suits consist of translucent armor that crystallizes around the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ bodies,” explained Variety. And while it’s certainly a new direction, it seems to be a rather popular choice.

They also recently revealed a reimagined villain – Rita Repulsa.

Originally played by Julia Cortez in the 1995 movie (as well as Barbara Goodson, Machiko Soga and Carla Perez in the TV series), this time around we see Elizabeth Banks as the iconic villain.

And her new look also went down a treat.

The story will essentially re-imagine the original ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ – featuring a group of American high school teenagers who are given access to alien tech in order to help save the world.

‘Power Rangers’ is directed by Dean Israelite and will star Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, and Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger.

‘Power Rangers’ heads to cinemas on 24 March 2017.
