We've talked about maskne, the by-product of the skin's reaction to the friction between our masks and our skin. Let's also not forget that wearing masks for the long term can contribute to larger facial pores.
Before we go on a rampage to "eliminate" pores, let's be real here. Pores are there for the natural expulsion of sebum and sweat, so completely minimising it not an option (nor is it doable). We need to accept that facial pores are natural, and we only need to take note that it doesn't get blocked by an unnaturally high amount of dirt, sebum, bacteria and dead skin, which can lead to acne. Unfortunately, while mask-wearing keeps us safe, it also does a pretty good job of aggravating the sebum situation.
So, the main thing we need to do for our skin to be at the optimal state is to keep our pores cleaned and skin balanced. Of course, using products made specifically to deal with the issues of pores can help. We've shortlisted a couple of them right here.
