Fei Fei Wanton Mee goes way back when a grandfather first owned the stall by the roadside. Back then, he would jump on bamboos to make his noodles, causing quite a show. In the early 2000s, 2 brothers proceeded to take over the wanton mee stall from their grandfather. Shortly after, the brothers decided to run 2 different stalls on their own. This is why there were separate stalls in a close proximity previously.

The Char Siew Wanton Mee (S$4) is known for their eggy springy noodles, which is described as the star of the show. Laden with pork lard, its lasting umami taste is probably the reason for its popularity. Topped with sliced char siew, blanched vegetables and 2 fried wantons, the whole dish is best with pickled green chilli.

They used to have an interesting manner in plating their chilli— with a spoonful of chilli balanced on top of the whole bowl. However, they don’t do so anymore.
