Happy news: Pippa Middleton has confirmed her pregnancy with her first child.

After months of speculation, the 34-year-old, who is married to hedge fund manager James Matthews, revealed the pair were expecting to Waitrose Magazine.

In her column for the British supermarket supplement, the sibling of royalty revealed she had just passed her first trimester.

Unlike her sister the Duchess of Cambridge – who famously suffered from hyperemeseis gravidarum – Pippa revealed she managed to avoid the severe morning sickness condition.

“I was lucky to pass the 12 week scan without suffering from morning sickness,” she wrote. “That meant I was able to carry on as normal”.

In her weekly fitness column, Pippa talked about how her first-time pregnancy was affecting her workout regime.

“This being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered,” she wrote.

“I wanted to know things like, would I strain if I served in tennis, are all strokes of swimming safe, can I still do a normal yoga class if I avoided certain positions? Could I still work my abs?

“It’s particularly hard in the early months when you don’t really want to share the news with everyone, not even your class instructor.”

“I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery.”

Each week, Pippa promises to chronicle her workout regime while pregnant

Pippa’s royal sister Kate Middleton can surely give her some tips, having given birth to her third child, Prince Louis, in April.

Pippa was first rumoured to be expecting just days before her sister gave birth and since, people have been keeping an eagle eye on that growing bump.

The couple attended Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding on May 19th, where Pippa looked gorgeous in a green, printed dress by The Fold.

Just over a week later, Pippa and her husband hit the French Open in Paris where Pippa looked radiant in the summer outfit of our dreams.

Here, there was more speculation that a tiny bump was on show.

Congratulations Pippa and James!
