Ping Xintao's grandson slams Chiung Yao's new book

26 Jul - Following their previous spat, Taiwanese writer and producer Chiung Yao found herself facing another issue with her stepchildren for releasing a book about her husband, Ping Xintao.

As reported on Tencent, Chiung, who previously released the ailing Ping to his children after they had a dispute about putting him on life support, had supposedly promised not to publish a book about it.

However, two months after the dispute, it was revealed that Chiung's new book is expected to be released on 1 August.

The book, "Before the Snowfalls: The Last Lesson of My Life" (translated title), is also published under a different company, Commonwealth Publishing, instead of her usual publisher - her husband's company, Crown Culture.

In the introduction segment of the book, Chiung, who is famous for her notable work, "My Fair Princess", wrote that the book is about how she is learning to "face death and accept death".

Ping's grandson Ping Jing recently expressed his frustration about the book's existence online, saying, "Two and a half months ago, the "national treasure" [Chiung Yao] passionately said that she will "not write a book". Two and a half months later, the book is out."

Ping stated that people who would buy the book should know that in the two and a half months since Chiung left Ping to their care, the producer has not come to visit her husband.
