With 355,397 issues sold, she's even surpassed the April 2013 issue that featured Michelle Obama and touted an exclusive interview with the first lady. That issue was the next best seller, shilling 293,798 copies. In her second cover story for Vogue magazine, Beyonce discussed her then-upcoming HBO documentary and her pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy. The glam cover shot showcased her curves in a red and black Alexander McQueen robe complete with matching bra and high-waisted underwear.

With infinite free websites and blogs at our fingertips, selling magazines isn't as easy as it used to be. But, slap the right celebrity on the cover and issues still fly off the shelves. The tricky part for magazine publishers is deciding who will grace each coveted monthly cover. "You have basically five seconds, maybe less, to grab a reader at the newsstand," InTouch Editor Michelle Lee told Forbes about the selection process. "So, they either have to love the star or they have to be fascinated by their story that week."
