As we have been following closely for months, Lena Dunham’s awesome HBO comedy, Girls, is almost finished filming its final season, and we are still dealing with our feelings. Lena and her crew have been posting tons of nostalgic photos about the final season, and we can’t wait to see it next spring. But there was one post from this weekend that totally captures all the awesomeness that was Girls.

This Instagram pic of Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner totally summarizes why we’re going to miss Girls.

When @jennikonner tells me to jump in the pool at wrap time I follow. 4 more days til #endofGIRLS”

Ugh, doesn’t that just look like so much fun? We feel like this so perfectly encapsulates what we love about Girls — that it’s a show by women, for women and about women, and there’s not enough of that on television. This show is all about loving yourself and embracing who you are, and Lena and Jenni jumping into the water totally embodies that. We also love the sense of fun and community that these ladies are exuding, and we’re going to miss the constant Girls reminder of the incredible things we women can do when we work together.

While we are sad to see it going, we have been enjoying the long goodbye.

This pic from one of Lena’s last night’s directing is so bittersweet. The whole team looks like a big, happy family.

And Lena packing up gives us ALL the feels.

We’re not sure what this shot is from, but we’re pretty sure it’s supposed to make us emotional, because it does. It is truly the end of an era, but we can’t wait to see what the awesome ladies from this team do next.

BRB we just have some emotions to deal with.
