Phoebe Dynevor is opening up about the hot, steamy sex scenes she filmed with Bridgerton
costar Regé-Jean Page.

The 26-year-old actress played Daphne Bridgerton opposite Page's Simon Bassett in the hit Netflix drama's first season and recently opened up about what she connected with most about her character—and how the sexual relationship between Daphne and Simon evolved

"There are a lot of differences between me and Daphne but I think she values family, which I also value, and at a time when women had only one option, she was as determined to make that happen as I am in my career I guess, and I think that was sort of my way into Daphne," Dynevor said during a recent Deadline panel.

Dynevor added that Daphne channeled that tenacity into her relationship with Simon and stressed how important the portrayal of the characters' sexual relationship was, not just to her, but to everyone involved in filming.

"I admired her more because she made it happen but she called the shots, and she also found love," she explained. "Their sexual evolution was very important to the storyline and something me, [showrunner Chris Van Dusen], Regé and everyone involved really wanted to tell truthfully and in a way that was safe for everyone."

Dynevor isn't the only Bridgerton insider who has discussed the sexual evolution between Daphne and Simon. The show's intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot, talked to Insider earlier this year about everything from the couple's sex montage (which she described as an "intimacy circus") to the "super cheeky" decision to film a female oral sex scene in a London private member's club that didn't even allow women inside until 1980 IRL.
