Philip Lee thanks Myolie Wu for her sacrifice

19 Oct - Nearly a week after the birth of their son, Myolie Wu's husband, businessman Philip Lee, recently shared the first photo of his wife and the baby together.

On 18 October, Phil uploaded on Instagram a photo of Myolie holding their baby, whose face is shown to the public for the first time, and wrote, "Thank you everyone for your best wishes. We have been overwhelmed with love and Brendan is a lucky boy indeed."

Phil said that a lot of people have been asking him how he feels about having a baby for the first time, and that the answer is, "I am totally in love with him."

However, the businessman said that most of his focus has been on wife Myolie Wu, who gave birth to his son.

"While everyone has been doting on Brendan, it is so easy to forget about who gave the most. When a woman carries a child, the body goes through many changes for 40 weeks. As the due date gets closer, the nervousness of the delivery and anxiety and insecurity of physical, mental and life changes can overwhelm a mother's mind.

"Witnessing her labour, from the moment her water broke, going to hospital, and watching the contractions grow increasingly stronger over the hours from the excruciating expressions on her face - her refusal to take an epidural because she was so determined to feel a mother's sacrifice and love for our child through a natural birth. It was very difficult to stand by feeling helpless and just watch.

"I will never forget her fortitude. Trust me guys, us men are weak compared to the strength of a mother giving birth! And after the never ending contraction pain, the actual birth required superhuman strength to push, when there was absolutely nothing left to give, somehow she still found strength to give 100 percent again and again for nearly an hour."

He continued saying that he is humbled by how much his wife has done and continued to do just to give him a son, and that he can't thank her enough for her sacrifice.

"After Brendan's delivery I also had to give my mother a big hug for going through the same for me. A sincere salute to all mothers from the heart. They say a mother's love is like nothing else in the world. I think it is true," he added.

Fans and netizens sang compliments for Phil's heartwarming post, and praised the baby for being so cute and adorable.
