21 Apr - Hong Kong actor Philip Keung has no issues with HKFA Best Supporting Actor Eric Tsang, despite the latter's previous speech that was deemed as an insult towards him.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at the premiere of his new movie, "Shock Wave", shared that he has already spoken to Eric on the phone to congratulate him for his victory at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Addressing previous criticism made by Chapman To and several others regarding Eric's speech and the actor's "I see your 26 to my one" line, Philip said that he and Eric have been friends for a long time and that he knows the actor better.
"He's a great man. He said it well. Everybody was having fun. I definitely didn't mind it at all," he said.
Philip also stated that Eric has given him a lot of encouragement and that the actor would never belittle anybody.
However, the actor said that he is also touched by how much people care about him that they would defend him in the issue, although he assured that there was nothing negative about Eric's speech that night.
As to whether he is disappointed about losing the award, Philip said that winning an accolade is like pursuing a girl, that he is now at the stage of admiring its beauty.
"It'll be a few years before I can take 'her' home," he added.
