Peter Sarsgaard has heaped praise on Matt Reeves, the director of the upcoming Batman movie in which plays Gotham district attorney Gil Colson.

Sarsgaard told Collider that Reeves is the “most detailed oriented director” that he has ever worked with, calling the high “level of focus” that he has brought to the blockbuster “unbelievable”.

But while this might make production on The Batman sound intense, Sarsgaard made sure to point out that working with such a “very specific type of mind” is actually “really fun”.

“He's very collaborative, but he also, he totally knows what he wants,” Sarsgaard said.

“You know, I would say like, ‘What about something like this?’ And he would think about it. ‘Well, no, because of the thing’... he's got it in his mind in such a detailed way that it's almost like savant sort of situation.”

The first trailer for The Batman was released at the end of August and was met with a euphoric response. But Sarsgaard said he has decided not to watch any footage of the film until his work on it is complete.

This is an approach that the actor has practiced throughout his career. In fact, he’s so adamant about not thinking about the “final product at all”, that he’s never watched some of his movies.
