Pepe Herrera: Being compared to Empoy is an honour!
7 Sep – For Pepe Herrera, being compared to the likes of "Kita Kita" actor Empoy Marquez is considered an honour.
As reported on Push, the actor who is playing the lead in Regal Entertainment's new movie, "The Hopeful Romantic", said that he considers Marquez a unique actor who is able to make people laugh and turn every moment interesting.
He also said that the popularity of Marquez as "not your typical leading man" means that the perception of audience is increasingly expanding.
"For me it means that the audience now has a better taste," he added.
However, Herrera said that he will not view Marquez as a competition and will focus solely on giving his best performance.
When asked if he was surprised to be given the chance to play the lead in a movie, Herrera admitted that he never expected that he would cross into acting smoothly in the first place.
The upcoming movie, co-starring Ritz Azul, will be released nationwide on 12 April.
