After rumors swirled about Meghan Markle concealing her pregnancy with a new hairstyle and an overcoat at Princess Eugenie's October 12 wedding, early on Monday morning, Kensington Palace confirmed she and Prince Harry are indeed expecting a child: The mother-to-be is 12 weeks along.

Most of the world-including the Queen!- was elated by the newlyweds' news, but some pointed out that their timing might have been a little inconsiderate. October 15 was International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, which recognizes pregnancy loss and infant death due to causes like SIDS, miscarriage, and stillbirth. In the U.S., the month is designated as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
