A mother-of-two has inspired social media users with her slow cooker Full English breakfast idea.

For most of us, a cooked breakfast complete with beans, bacon and fried mushrooms is but a pipe dream, with busy weekday mornings leaving just enough time for a bowl of soggy cornflakes or hastily buttered toast.

But Sonia Cheetham has come up with a brilliant trick to treat her two daughters to a hearty cooked breakfast first thing.

Using her trusty slow-cooker and three mugs, Sonia has created a brilliant hack for making a full English breakfast overnight.

The idea has been shared by Facebook user Rose Bowler, who says she came across the idea in a slow cooker group she is part of on Facebook. It has so far elicited 8.8K responses on the social media platform, along with 26K comments and 27K shares.

The post is captioned: “Wow! what an amazing idea someone has shared in the slow cooker group.”

The handy before and after picture illustrates how Sonia first created the breakfast. One mug contains raw mushrooms and a knob of butter, while another contains what looks like tinned tomatoes.

In the third mug goes a can of baked beans with pepper sprinkled on top for an extra bit of taste.

On the sides of the slow cooker go rolled up bacon rashers and uncooked sausages, ready to be cooked overnight.

Come morning time, all you need to add it some buttered toast to eat your breakfast with. The method also saves on washing up, thanks to the complete lack of pans or cooking utensils involved. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Rose, who shared Sonia’s recipe, added a handy tip in her Facebook post for those looking to try this recipe.

She said: “She even adds a handy tip: “Make sure the meat is leant against the edge for it to brown. I am definately going to try this. [sic]

Facebook users have gone crazy for the post, with many tagging their friends and saying they want to try it.

However, not everyone is so impressed, with one person writing: “I tried it its not very nice.you end up with quite a lot of water at the bottom and eggs are awfull hash browns soggy can’t beat the real thing.most of mine went in the bin x.”
