‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us’, ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ & ‘Masters Of Illusion’ Renewed For Summer On The CW
The CW said today that it has renewed its summer series Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Masters of Illusion. All will return in 2017.
Hosted by Alyson Hannigan, the hourlong magic competition series Penn & Teller: Fool Us will return for Season 4 with the duo inviting aspiring magicians to perform their best trick to try and fool them. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their Las Vegas show. Penn & Teller see the trick only once and have to immediately try to work it out. The live studio audience knows there are no camera tricks, secret edits or helpful camera cuts. The series is created and produced by 117 Productions and September Films with executive producers Penn Jillette, Teller, Peter Adam Golden and Andrew Golder.
Next year will mark Season 5 on the CW for Whose Line Is It Anyway? — which is hosted by Aisha Tyler and features castmembers Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie. Along with a special guest comedian in each episode, the cast must put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games, prompted only by random ideas supplied by the studio audience and Tyler. The performers must use their imaginations to conjure up funny characters, scenes and songs out of thin air. Created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, the series from Angst Productions and Hat Trick Productions is executive produced by Dan Patterson, Mark Leveson, Jimmy Mulville, Ryan Stiles, Brady and Mochrie.
From Associated Television International, Masters of Illusion features magic performed by cutting-edge illusionists and escape artists and performers in each episode displaying skills ranging from perplexing interactive mind magic to hilarious comedy routines. The show will air Season 6 next year, exec produced by David McKenzie, Gay Blackstone, David Martin and Al Schwartz.
