Peggy Hsu gets GMA nominations and welcomes new child

23 Jul – It was a double celebration for Taiwanese singer Peggy Hsu, who welcomed her second child the same day she received her nominations at the Golden Melody Awards.

As reported on Apple Daily, the singer who is in the running for the Best Mandarin Female Singer and Best Album among others, first responded through her agent following news of the nomination, saying that she was in the delivery room when it was announced.

"Her baby boy has just been born (during the GMA press conference). She is still recovering from anaesthesia. Everything is still all over the place. Will share the details with everybody later," the agent stated.

In a Facebook post that she published later that night, Peggy stated that she didn't even had time to feel nervous for the announcement as she was busy giving birth to her child. However, she could not help but to be moved to tears as soon as she received the news about the six nominations.

"There were too many complicated feelings. As I was hugging my boy for the first time, I also heard about the nominations I received," she said.

Peggy said that her album, "Hypnocity" was the most practical work she has ever made, which revolves around separation, time, and life.

"I want to thank everybody who participated in the making in this album, for accompanying me on this profound journey. It is because of your talent and expertise that the album was able to shine," she added.

The album has also been nominated in four other categories including Best Producer and Best Arrangement.
