"Pee Mak" star joins Herman Yau's "77 Heartburns"

14 Dec – Thai actor-model Mario Maurer is set to star in "77 Heartburns" - the upcoming sequel to Herman Yau's 2017 movie, "77 Heartbreaks".

As reported on HK01, the actor, known to many as the lead in the box-office Thai comedy-horror "Pee Mak", revealed that he decided to accept the project as he has always been a fan of Hong Kong cinema.

"When I was a teenager, I watched a lot of Hong Kong films, especially triad films. I watched the whole "Young and Dangerous" franchise," he said, adding that he is also a fan of movies starring Stephen Chow and Ng Man Tat.

The actor will be playing an international superstar with an optimistic world view in the new movie co-starring Charlene Choi.

The upcoming film co-stars Pakho Chau, Kara Hui, and Jeana Ho, and is scheduled for 2020 release.
