Paul Walker’s mother Cheryl has spoken about her tragic final conversation with the Fast & Furious star.

She revealed that he almost missed the journey which ultimately killed him in 2013.

Walker died when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a lamppost and caught fire, killing both Walker and the car’s driver, his close friend Roger Rodas.

Speaking to People magazine, she explained that she, her son and Walker’s then 15-year-old daughter Meadow had been discussing plans for the Christmas holidays in her kitchen.

They had decided to go out and buy a Christmas tree that evening.

“We were having this good conversation, and he’d forgotten about an event he had… He got a text and said, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m supposed to be somewhere!’” she said.

The event was a car show for his Reach Out Worldwide charity, which was taking place on November 30.

The crash, which happened in Rodas’s Porsche Carrera GT, occurred on their way back from the show, which took place during a break from the filming of Fast & Furious 7.

Meadow Walker settled a wrongful death case with Porsche in October last year.

A trailer for I Am Paul Walker, a documentary about Walker’s life, arrived earlier this week, featuring interviews with Walker’s brothers Cody and Caleb, and co-stars like Tyrese Gibson.

It airs in the US on the Paramount Network on August 11.
