Paul Soriano shares the origin of his son's name

The director's baby, Seve, was named after his favourite golfer and favourite movie's lead character

4 Oct - Director Paul Soriano recently shared that it was him who named his and Toni Gonzaga's baby Severiano Elliot Gonzaga-Soriano.

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the director, whose actress wife gave birth to their first son on 30 September, stated that Gonzaga trusted him to name their baby.

"I chose the name Severiano because my favourite golfer is Spanish golfer, Severiano Ballesteros. And Elliot is the name of the lead character from "E.T.", my favourite movie and the one that started my love for films," he explained.

Soriano also revealed that it was Gonzaga who decided to give birth naturally rather than undergo a Caesarean like most women her age.

"She fought for it. I mean, 38 hours of labour and almost three hours of pushing. There was even times when she was kind of passing out," he said, with much admiration.
