Parker Posey Gets Lucky, Sells Over Asking in New York City

SELLER: Parker Posey
LOCATION: New York City, NY
PRICE: $1,555,000
SIZE: (approx.) 800 square feet, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Lucky Parker Posey sold her cooperative apartment on the sixth floor of a distinguished full-service pre-war building in New York City’s Greenwich Village for $1.555 million, a good bit above its $1.45 million asking price. The new owner, according to property records, is David Tackel, an executive at Ryan Seacrest’s Civic Entertainment Group and the son of Abbe Raven, former president and CEO and current chairman emeritus of A+E Networks. The stylishly eccentric indie movie queen, a showbiz veteran of nearly 25 years with an idiosyncratically adorable Instagram account, purchased the approximately 800-square-foot apartment in 2008 for $1.35 million

Miz Posey made no secret she listed the one-bedroom and one-bathroom corner unit back in May and, in fact, posed in one listing photo with her fluffy, cute-as-a-button Bichon Frise, Gracie, while reading — or pretending to read — Mary-Louise Parker’s 2015 epistolary memoir “Dear Mr. You.” A small but proper entry vestibule leads to a nicely proportioned living room with original over-scaled herringbone-pattern wood floors and a bookcase-flanked built-in window seat and open northern views. A small adjoining dining area, also with over-the-rooftops northern view, is open to a tile-floored galley kitchen with an unexpectedly generous amount of counter space and a complete collection of name-brand appliances. Floor plans show there are three good-sized closets — one of them a walk-in and none of them, unfortunately, in the bedroom — plus an spacioius storage room/pantry behind the kitchen.

Miz Posey, who co-starred in Woody Allen’s less-than-stellar “Café Society” and will appear next month in the much anticipated Christopher Guest ensemble comedy “Mascots,” continues to own a bucolic 16-plus acre country getaway near the itty-bitty town of Ghent in the ungodly gorgeous Hudson River Valley in Upstate New York that she bought, per property records, in early 2007 for $650,000 from Tatum O’Neal.
