Pamela Anderson’s ex Jon Peters has claimed he paid off her $200k debts during their 12 day marriage, stating ‘There’s no fool like an old fool.’
Peters has now told the New York Post in an email that Anderson - who he first dated 30 years ago - proposed to him by text message.
He wrote: “Needless to say that when she texted me that she wanted to get married, it was kind of a dream come true even though I was engaged to someone else and the lady was moving in.
“I dropped everything for Pam. She had almost $200k (£154k) in bills and no way to pay it so I paid it and this is the thanks I get. There’s no fool like an old fool.’’
Anderson announced their separation in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying: "I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union. We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another.
"Life is a journey and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalisation of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process.”
The actress, model and animal rights campaigner was first married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in 1995 after knowing him for just four days. They remained together for three years, although Lee was charged with assaulting Anderson and they split in 1998. They have two sons, Brandon, 23, and Dylan, 22.
Anderson married singer Kid Rock in 2006 and they split up the same year, and then wed film producer Rick Salomon twice between 2007 and 2015.
Between 2017 and June 2019 she dated French soccer star Adil Rami.
Peters has also been married four times previously and was also in a 12-year relationship with Barbra Streisand that inspired her 1976 version of the movie A Star Is Born. He has a son, Christopher, with his second wife, actress Lesley Ann Warren, daughters Caleigh and Skye with his third wife and a daughter, Kendyl, with his fourth wife.
