Oscar Nominee Spotlight: 'Room' Star Brie Larson's Busy Awards Season

The Academy Awards ceremony on Feb. 28 is fast approaching, but for the contenders, the Oscar press tour began months ago. Brie Larson, who plays a kidnapping victim trying to shield her son from their harsh reality in Room, has been stumping for the acclaimed low-budget drama since last summer. She’s now nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Room picked up additional nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (Lenny Abrahamson), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Emma Donoghue, who also wrote the novel on which the film was based).
