Orlando Bloom Teases New Documentary with UNICEF: 'I've Been Blessed to See and Witness Much More Than Most'

Orlando Bloom is doing his part to give back.

The 40-year-old actor took to Instagram this week to give his followers a sneak peek into his upcoming documentary with UNICEF. The Pirates of the Caribbean star has been sharing photos from his current trip to Bangladesh as he spends time among the country's native people.

"I like to think i'm well traveled," Bloom shared on Tuesday. "I know i've been blessed to see and witness much more than most for which i'm grateful...the level of poverty and despair and yet remarkable human resistance here is astounding...#bangladesh #love #life #open & #humbled by #unicef #all they do for the #children."

The Lord of the Rings actor has been a UNICEF Global Ambassador since 2009, and has since traveled all over the world to help the less fortunate.

"Oh the #luxury it's in the #simplicity," he captioned a video riding a local Bangladeshi train on Friday.

Bloom has also made some new friends along the way, including a 16-year-old mother and her 7-month-old son.

ET chatted with Bloom at UNICEF's 70th Anniversary Event last December, where he admitted that his compassion has grown immensely since becoming a father to his 6-year-old son, Flynn.

"Being a father, you know, you kind of have a new sense of responsibility," he said. "I've seen the work that [UNICEF] does to actually make a difference in communities around the world and I couldn't be more honored to be a part of it."
