Shoppers can now make online purchases from Sim Lim Square stores from the comfort of their homes – e-commerce platform Shopee announced on Friday (17 August) that it is partnering the electronics and IT mall to enable online retail.

This tie-up gives customers access to Sim Lim Square’s wide assortment of gadgets, electronics, and other IT peripherals both online and offline, said Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Shoppers can make orders from the mall’s participating stores through Shopee’s website, and choose the timing and location of their delivery. They can also opt to collect their purchased items from the physical retail store.

“We are excited to work with Shopee, our first e-commerce partner, to expand into the online space,” said a Sim Lim Square spokesperson. “It is essential that retailers are able to adapt to changing consumer behaviour, and we believe that an online-to-offline strategy is the key to long-term success.”

“Our partnership with Sim Lim Square marks our commitment to helping more offline retailers extend their reach through e-commerce. We are excited to have Sim Lim Square as a partner and will work closely with them to provide an improved overall retail experience for our users,” said Zhou Junjie, Chief Commercial Officer at Shopee.

Shopee and Sim Lim Square will be holding a launch campaign from 17 to 31 August, during which shoppers can look forward to flash deals and giveaways from brand partners such as Acer, Avermedia and Sonicgear, as well as special discounts.
