‘Once Upon A Time’ Casts ‘Galavant’s Karen David As Princess Jasmine

Princess Jasmine will be joining Aladdin and Jafar in Storybook. ABC has confirmed Galavant star Karen David will play the Arabian princess in the upcoming sixth season of drama series Once Upon A Time.

She’ll join newly announced Deniz Akdeniz as Aladdin and Oded Fehr as Jafar, along with previously cast Giles Matthey as Morpheus and Craig Horner as the Count of Monte Cristo for Season 6.

The Disney character from the Middle Eastern kingdom of Agrabah first appeared in Disney’s 1992 animated feature Aladdin, and again in its 1994-1996 sequels as well as the 1994-1996 animated TV series. Jasmine lived a sheltered life within the palace walls often feeling suffocated by the laws of her kingdom.

Once Upon A Time stars Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret), Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), Lana Parrilla (Evil Queen/Regina), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming/David), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), Colin O’Donoghue (Hook), Jared S. Gilmore (Henry Mills), Sean Maguire (Robin Hood), Rebecca Mader (Wicked Witch/Zelena) and Robert Carlyle (Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold).

The series, which hails from ABC Studios, is executive produced by Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, Steve Pearlman, David H. Goodman and Andrew Chambliss.
