VMA season is upon us, and with it comes the usual crescendo of anticipation that comes with finding out which celebs are set to hit the stage at the awards show. Well, get ready to twerk a little somethin’ for a VMAs performance of “Side by Side” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
The VMAs dropped the news on Twitter on Wednesday evening in the form of a video clip featuring an artist piecing together an adorable collage of Grande, who assures us that her set “not just a performance — it’s a statement.”

Well, slay on, Ari. We can’t wait! Everyone knows Minaj and Grande put on a hell of a show and we’re sure this year’s performance won’t disappoint. Hopefully, it all goes off without a hitch because all of the dramz Minaj had with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift last year was way tew much.
That said, there’s SO much celebrity awesomeness to look forward to this year, including Rihanna receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and the fact that Britney Spears will perform for the first time since 2007. Also, Beyoncé and Adele cleaned up in nominations with 11 and eight nods, respectively, plus the list of star-studded presenters includes many of our faves, like Kim Kardashian West and Fifth Harmony.
The VMAs air Sunday, Aug. 28 at 8pm and we can’t wait to see these fabulous ladies bring it!
