OMG, Chris Pratt picked out his own dad in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” and it’s perfect

Around here, we’re all about Guardians of the Galaxy, so we were super excited to learn about this thrilling spoiler regarding one actor being cast for Volume 2. Earlier this summer we learned who’d be playing a new female character, which had us like, YES, for obvious reasons (#feminism). But now we’re all about the big reveal about who is going to play the role of Star-Lord’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. If you don’t wanna know, scroll away!

So who’s going to play Ego the Living Planet, Chris Pratt’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy 2?

Kurt Russell, of course.

“He was actually not in my head initially” director James Gunn told Empire, “but one day Chris suggested him, and I would have been really disappointed if he’d said no. Hey, if you have to cast anything, Kurt’s a pretty good way to go.”

Leave it to Chris Pratt to not only pick his own dad in a film, but also do a damn good job of it. TBH, we can’t imagine a better pairing. We cannot wait to see how this goes down, and to learn more details!
